I have five or six books on writing downstairs in the basement. Every so often I take a volume out and scan the first chapter or two. Then I become overwhelmed and put the book back. Your advice doesn't make me want to go to bed after I read it. Instead it inspires me to write and write and write some more.

As for finding a publisher, what about oneself? Dan Poynter's "Self Publishing Manual: How to Write, Print and Sell Your Own Book" is its 16th edition. And with digital printing being what it is, I know several people who self-publish by choice as they say the economics just don't make sense to do it any other way.

Your blog is a blessing, Joan. Please keep your columns coming.
